As teased earlier, Xiaomi India has launched new series of smartphones today, namely Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite.
Redmi Y1 is Xiaomi 's First selfie-centric smartphone in India. It Sports 16 MP(f/2.0) front-facing camera with soft LED flash. At the Launch event, the company had claimed that this phone simulates the effects of natural lighting and captures more vibrant selfie portraits. This 16MP camera comes with Beautify 3.0 feature which preserves facial details with enhanced photos.
On the front, the Redmi Y1 sports 5.5 inch HD display and the back come with the brushed metallic finish like Redmi series devices and a fingerprint scanner on the back. This device is powered by an Octa-Core 64 bit Snapdragon 435 Soc with Adreno 505 GPU, 3GB RAM for multitasking. This a dual sim device with support for one 4G Sim, the another with 3G support and an external micro SD. This is called 2+1 Hybrid SIM TRAY.
Redmi Y1 has Infrared support which means this phone can be used a remote controller. As far the sensors concerned this phone come with Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, e-compass, Hall Sensor.
On the rear, this device comes with a 13MP lens with a f/2.2 aperture with PDAF support and this is capable of recording 1080p video. This phone has 3080mAh battery which is non-removable and offers 32 hours of talk time, weighs 153g and has 7.7mm thickness.
The Redmi Y1 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage has been priced at Rs 8,999 and another variant with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage is priced at Rs 10,999.
The Redmi Y1 Lite has a 5.5inch display, 13MP rear camera and is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 SoC with 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage and has been priced at Rs 6,999.
