New Weather Apps - Sep'20 (Week - 01)

This week we have brought brand new weather apps worth trying. 1.  CliMate Released date: 25Jul2020 Downloads:  50+ Size: 2.37 MB Version: 1.15.2  Climate is surely a new entrant to the play store but not just another basic weather app since it offers all the features of a weather app without any ads and in-app purchases with a clean and simlple UI along with loads of customization options. Features: Themes support. Complete weather report for a week. Customizable units Parameters such as temperature, wind speed, Humidity, Pressure, UV Index available. Sunrise and Sunset. Widget support. Graphical representation of the data. Mostly shows accurate data.

YouTube Music: New feature (Automatically download songs ranging from 100 to 500)

Google's music and video streaming platform YouTube Music is getting more popular with every day go by and has a very popular feature called offline mixtape (for premium users).   YouTube Music - Offline Mixtape Now, an improved feature over the offline mixtape called ' Smart Downloads (premium feature) '  has been introduced which  automatically downloads user specific songs based on history.  The basic difference here is no manual intervention of user is required to save songs for offline usage. It is important to note that offline mixtape allows you to save up to 100 songs and if you want to save more than 100 songs smart downloads will automatically replace the basic offline mixtape. This feature is quite useful for the ones who tend to forget about saving music for offline listening, but not for the ones who are very choosy about offline listening. Truecaller gets Voice Calling feature

Anti-spam service provider,  Truecaller has rolled out much-speculated VoIP calling feature with the recent update and this feature is available for all Truecaller users.  In addition to the anti-spam feature for calls, dialer and text messages, Treucaller has few other features such as call recording, flash, and mobile payments. With VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), now Truecaller users can make high-quality voice calls to Android and iOS users (may get delayed for iOS users) just like Google Duo and Whatsapp using mobile data and Wi-Fi networks. Truecaller also stated that its users make over 180 million outgoing calls in a day using inbuilt dialer.

The News app from Google is one of the best News apps in the Play Store since it organizes what's important to you according to your preference to keep you up-to-date. With the recent update, the app has got UI improvements and full coverage, easy sharing, and etc. Now, no need to go back and forth to switch between different news articles. Google Maps gets Speedometer feature

In a recent update, Google has rolled out a new feature Speedometer  into the Maps app. Google Maps To enable the feature, use the below path. Maps > Hamburger Menu > Settings > Navigation Settings > Driving Options > Speedometer Now, the maps will show the speed at which vehicle is being driven while in navigation mode. Speed metrics are shown automatically based on the location. If you wish to change the metrics use below path . Maps > Hamburger Menu > Settings > Navigation Settings > Map Display > Distance Units The speed shown on the maps is almost the same as the actual digital speedometer of a vehicle, in fact, the difference was just 2-3 kilometers as we have tested this out. Glide typing: This feature (swipe typing) is well known on Gboard and helps to type faster compared to the traditional typing. Just slide your finger from letter to letter. In case of this isn't working, use below path to enable it. Settings > Gilde Typing > Enable Glide typing Using Spacebar as a Trackpad: This is a very useful feature if you want to reach another part of a sentence to modify a word(s) from the endpoint. Google Chrome has recently received an update to version 75 which included features such as native dark theme password generator and etc. Google Chrome - Dark Theme (V.75) The Dark theme was available in v.74 but with a twist, means to enable the Dark theme users to have to enable flag. Use the below path to enable Dark Theme in v.74. In address bar type " chrome://flags" > load the page > search for dark theme > enable > relaunch the chrome (twice if required) Google Chrome - Dark Theme (V.74) Now with version 75 (75.0.3770.67), default dark theme feature is available in settings. Just enabling will activate the Dark theme in Chrome. Auto-Play Video Preview on YouTube (Android)

Wondering how to turn on or off the auto-play video preview in YouTube?? Just read further to know how. By default, the YouTube app auto-plays the video preview when the device connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you want to do any changes to this default setting, use the below path. Open Google App > More > General Settings Auto-Play Video Preview on YouTube (Android) Choose ' Never' to completely disable this feature Choose ' On Wi-Fi and mobile data' to view the auto video preview on the YouTube app. The ' never' option would help to save significant data when you have limited data to use.
