This week we have brought brand new weather apps worth trying. 1.  CliMate Released date: 25Jul2020 Downloads:  50+ Size: 2.37 MB Version: 1.15.2  Climate is surely a new entrant to the play store but not just another basic weather app since it offers all the features of a weather app without any ads and in-app purchases with a clean and simlple UI along with loads of customization options. Features: Themes support. Complete weather report for a week. Customizable units Parameters such as temperature, wind speed, Humidity, Pressure, UV Index available. Sunrise and Sunset. Widget support. Graphical representation of the data. Mostly shows accurate data.

Android Launcher - Evie Launcher (Free and Ad-free)

In the Android space, only pixel and android one devices come with stock Android and all the other OEM's have their own customized skins on top of the Android. This is where the users tend to use launchers to change the look and feel of their devices.

There are plenty of options available on Play Store, but finding a free, ad-free, customizable and responsive launcher is a tedious job and in such case, Evie is by far the best launcher in all aspects.


It was released in 2016 and became quite a popular one within a short span due to its simplicity,  customizability and more importantly its free from ads.

  • Universal Search - Just swiping down on the home screen activates this search, lets you search all the apps. Choose a search engine (Google, Bing, DuckDuck Go) 
  • App Drawer - A quick swipe up brings all the apps installed, this app drawer is completely customizable as well (Grid size, icon size, icon title, and change icon. 
  • Customizable shortcuts - Long press on search results to create custom shortcuts.
  • List of frequently used apps is displayed on top of the app drawer.

  • Supports double tap to lock feature, the device admin permission is required to turn on instant lock
  • Gestures such as Home button, double tap, swipe up, swipe down, pinch, expand, two-finger swipe up and two-finger swipe down are completely customizable.

Settings panel can be accessed by a long press on the home screen and selecting settings, settings panel looks as below.

Google Maps - New Update (Version 9.70.0)

This new update brings few visual changes and three categories to the maps experience. Search Nearby: Right after opening the app you'll get to see a search nearby panel with separate tiles for Restaurants, Cafes, Gas stations, ATMs, Pharmacies, and Groceries which will help nearby places without any typing. Just below the tiles photos of the popular places nearby which will give first glance about the places and surroundings. This option can be enabled by tapping the Explore tab at the bottom. Search Nearby Driving or Driving Mode: This driving feature proposes faster routes to home or office along with traffic updates in that particular area.
