Know the App Better (Category - Music & Audio) - Spotify

Spotify is the most beloved music streaming service across the Globe has more than 207 million users and among them, 96+ million users are paying.

In the February end (2019), Spotify was brought to India and within a week span, it has added one million users in India.

Keeping all the history aside, let us try to understand what made Spotify very successful.

Spotify - UI

  • Spotify's algorithm is the gravity that makes users stick its services. In other words, based on the initial setup it curates playlists which are pretty much user specific and adds new stuff according to what user is listening to every day.
  • A vast collection of Songs (more than 40 Million)
  • Clean User Interface
  • Supports a wide range of devices (Computers, TV, Smart Speakers and Smartphones)
  • Brief detail about the Artist(s).
  • Podcast

Interesting Features:

  • Spotify while navigating: To use this awesome feature use the below path and you will be able to use Spotify while navigating.
Path: Open Maps > Menu (top left corner) > settings > Navigate Settings > Default                       media app > Select Spotify

  • Private session: This option doesn't let Spotify suggest songs and will be automatically turned off after 6 hours (For example if the user wants rhymes for their children and doesn't want Spotify to suggest based on the rhymes). Path: Tap on Gear icon (settings) > Under Social > Private Session

  •  Share the song that you are listening to via Instagram Stories. Path: Tap on the current song > 3 dot menu (top right corner) > Share > Tap on Instagram Stories
An important thing to note that Indian users do not have access to the entire collection of songs of Spotify, expecting to bring all of them in the near future.
