Choosing an Android Smartphone is quite a difficult task as this platform provides a wide variety of options, this ranges from Low-end to High-end Smartphones.
Key Points to remember while buying an Android Smartphone:
- Choosing a right phone with a right SoC or CPU is an important decision. The current smartphone industry is mainly dominated by Qualcomm (Snapdragon Processors). Samsung's Exynos, MediaTek and Huawei's Kirin are other key players. Snapdragon Processors are the quite efficient chipsets which provide great performance, power efficient. SD 400 series is used in entry-level smartphones, SD 600 Series is used in Mid-Range Smartphones and the SD 800 series is used in High-end flagships.
- Build Quality, consider buying a sturdy unibody metal or plastic chassis (Glass back is more prone to accidental damages, the glass surface attracts more fingerprints) which would give a nice feel on the hand.
- Display (LCD or OLED) with a protection layer, Corning Gorilla Glass is preferred.
- USB type C for charging and data transfer, though this is not standard in low and mid-range smartphones.
- It is recommended to choose stock android or near to stock Android (OnePlus, Motorola, HTC) for the smoother performance over heavily tweaked Android OS such as touch wiz, MIUI, EUI.
